Tara Lee, Bad Girl SOS Cinderella

Tara Lee, Bad Girl SOS Cinderella

So, the most anticipated song released more than a week ago and only yesterday the MV officially released through various sharing video sites.

What is it? Yes it is Bad Girl, Kris Wu’s newest single.

Frankly, when it comes to Kris Wu’s music, I do not know what to say since his musical preferences basically is not my favorite genre. Honestly I prefer he sing ballad only but after I listen to his self produce single, Bad Girl, I realize that his pace is not in ballad.

Bad Girl was released when I was on temporary hiatus thus I could not listen to it immediately but when I finally I did;

My—very—first impression upon hearing song intro was Jay Chou!

Secondly, after listen the entire song, I was open mouthed, surprise!
Kris Wu is indeed a big troll, since the moment they broke the news about Bad Girl and from promotional photos they had release previously, I expect such a heavy or maybe dark hip hop, I think none expect that the song will turn out that way.

Come to think of it, I should have expect he will insert EDM since the genre is huge recently—even I trouble my self to study the sound since I’m curious why CNBLUE is so in love with the genre—and apparently I failed to notice.

I can not say much about his music since I have no clue about it, I rarely—almost never actually—listen to hip hop or R&B or any kind of music Kris Wu prefer to listen to. In my opinion, Bad Girl’s music, lyric and beat is opposite to each other. It is like contrast situation among anger, disappointment, and upset feeling that voice out through happy beat. I do not know if this right or not, I really hope there someone out there will be able to teach me this kind of music.

Hip hop is something new to me, I mean, I started to closely listen and studying about this genre just recently, thank to Kris Wu. While EDM I already studying about the genre for awhile now, this time thank to CNBLUE.

And because of EDM too, I found cool band which dedicated their music for the sound, they are one of popular Japanese band, SEKAI NO OWARI. They taught me that the thing when produce by its master would have some amazing outcome. Do I say that CNBLUE’s EDM is bad? To me, yes. In my opinion, they still have so much space to explore without switching genre. But then again, that is the difference Korean music industry and other countries. CNBLUE has company need to feed, has market to satisfy since they make music for them not for their own satisfaction, not for art. Music and art come after money for them, I can not blame them though, the environment had them to do that. SEKAI NO OWARI however, they are a group of best friends who love in same sound thus they decide to create some music to cheer other as none can cheer them when they are feeling down. And how about Kris Wu? Kris Wu is fetus in music scene but I am already proud of him.

Reason?

I have all the reason to be proud of him, here I will list them down.
Firstly, Kris Wu is not trained to be musician; he trained 4 year along to be rapper and dancer. None—even me—ever imagine he will compose, writing lyric or even produce music.

Secondly, instead of looking for good composer, lyricist or producer to do his song, he trouble himself to create himself a song. This one is indication of musician’s point of view to me.

For Boice, maybe this is not a big deal since CNBLUE best known as self composing and producing team, but for Meigeni and Kris Wu, of course, this one is huge thing. Although I barely see people talking about his music but I think that understandable, or maybe since I can say that I came late for his song, people already discuss his music a week ago and I miss it?

Other discussion about music is, the MV. Frankly I am not quite please with Bad Girl MV. But I think, the reason why I displease is very different with most of the people out there. And this is also the same reason why I did not spare a glance to watch Cinderella MV.

I never like those unnecessary scenes. But I still talk about Bad Girl and not Cinderella?

Because both of them are different although have the same reason why I do not like the MV. The scene did not affect Bad Girl too much, not many people discuss it. Meigeni discuss many things and what I proud the most is “Kris Production”. While Cinderella was the opposite. Those scenes stole all the attention and became the main topic of discussion, even news media—well Korean media almost never write about CNBLUE’s music though, so it was no surprise at all. They ditched CNBLUE’s music just because of the scenes.

Why I strongly oppose the unnecessary scene in MV?

Because I know, they add the scenes to gain attention not to emphasize their music. I remember ever read somewhere about one Kpop idol, he said that ripping his t-Shirt is one of his way to communicate with his audience. Perhaps, it works for many idols or their fans but for me, it definitely big no. to me, there should be no other way to communicate with audiences but with music.

There a lot of world artists also did the same, should CNBLUE or Kris Wu wait until the time?

No! Do not forget that CNBLUE is huge, Kpop is huge—Kris Wu is no longer Kpop but most of his fans were still have Kpopers’ mindset. Their albums often sitting at Billboard world album chart and yes many of world artists did that—ripping clothes, etc—and I still have the same preference, if they did it simply to make their fans high, it’s not right. To put simply, ripping clothes shall not be the main attraction of the show. Take for example, RHCP or LP, with or without ripping clothes their show is always high. Plus their music, they are not only voice out about lame and desperate love story topic. Is that necessary to rip off your clothes when you are desperate and upset and broken heart? I don’t think so, unless you wanted to show off your body. If you perform nude for human trafficking campaign, I’ll definitely standing ovation for you.

Back to music, I do not know if I should be glad or not Kris Wu inserted some EDM sound because it makes me able to speak a word or two about his work. Although I am still incompetent enough to make review but I still proud of Bad Girl. Some people actually thinking that I lower my standard about music in order to keep Kris Wu relevant. I tell you, I still picky when it comes to music and my standard is still the same.

Good music=self compose (and/or self written lyric).
Perfect music=good music + live performance.

That is the way I am rating music, whosever the music is, western or Asian, are all the same. And Bad Girl was even self produce, so can I say that this song is beyond perfect? Definitely!

I do not know how other rated one song, but I think everyone has their own way to rate each work but this is my way.

And one more thing—and this is the most important thing actually—when I talk about music, it has nothing to do with MV. Music is something you work with your ear, not with your eyes.

Below here there 3 EDM music—plus one is not EDM it is only the newest song—with different taste and sound. Enjoy and let me know what you think about those musics (not MV). Until next time 🙂

Tara Lee, Fans and Their Demand

Tara Lee, Fans and Their Demand

Today I found something ridiculous regarding my fandom world. If you wanted to know what it was, this was about crediting title in Kris Wu soon to be release movie, Mr. Six.

Well, this started when Li Yifeng’s fans demanded to change list order in the movie credit. The things went worse when Huayi took the demand; official database in IM Global changed the order list and official trailer in China Lion’s Youtube channel removed without prior noticing.

This lead International Meigeni sparked anger. Many big fan accounts question the matter to international Mr. Six distributor and of course, soon various Kris Wu’s fanbases posted receipts mostly about how Kris Wu’s fandom would affect the movie internationally.
Meigeni international’s power was no joke, I admit that but then again, it was not our job to talk or question. Sure as fans we would like to see our bias on top of the priority but please, set your mind right.

I think crediting list was producers’ job. It was behind-the-scene thing. I was aware about movie billing and such and if you use that thing to justify, then do you even know how much percentage of Kris Wu would appear in the movie, in addition he supposed to be antagonist too. Only producers and those who involved in the movie production knew the portion. Beside, was it done beforehand?

If this billing makes you hesitate to support Kris Wu’s movie just because Kris Wu would not get the share from the box office revenue then are you his real fan? Kris Wu could not always get lead cast in his every movie. How about Mermaid? Won’t you refuse to sit at the cinema? Because he is only cameo and surely premiere counted as box office, if you go to the cinema to watch, your money you spend won’t go to Kris Wu’s pocket. How does it sound? Please be rational before makes an excused.

Huayi have absolute power to change everything and they didn’t oblige to tell fans about that. Fans demand an explanation but they have right not to respond it, it’s makes sense. On top of everything, Kris Wu has professional management to take care the matter better than we do. They know what to do without us instructed them. Kris Wu is the boss, he knows everything about the movie contract, role, paychecks and whatnot. His situation right now is different with him back then. His career developed by himself, his team member chosen by himself and if they did not say anything regarding the matter, it was because why they bother to speak up if everything already settled?

I doubt if Huayi discreet about the change toward Kris Wu’s side and even if Huayi did, I’m pretty sure Kris Wu’s side would solve the matter quietly.

As Meigeni, why were you still make fuss over everything when you bias tend to keep everything low and quiet?

I do really hope that Meigeni take chill pill and just enjoy the movie without fuss. Movie production is something beyond fans can imagine, you keep on going justice for A, justice for B, but in the end of the day it only make your fandom look bad. Kris Wu teaches us how to respect everyone and everything, why did not you go after his lead?

He kept on telling us “Do not fight the hate with hate,” it was not only hate he means, but more than that.

Can we just follow him?

Think again, no matter how much we put on pressure to producers, distributors, we have no power whatsoever to change everything, the bad side will go to Kris Wu, he was the one on the bad side and worse because his fans that put him on that place.

Maybe we think, by putting on pressure then they would listen to us. Maybe yes, but what it the bad side took them, Kris Wu would be on the difficult situation. Kris Wu well known of being polite and humble newbie in the entertainment world. Everyone acknowledge it; why didn’t we follow him?

Once again, why can we trust Kris Wu studio regarding this matter? They know everything better than any of us.

Friendly reminder to everyone takes chill pill or cool shower to cool your head down.

PS: And I’m very disappointed with my fellow Meigeni.

It still early in the morning when Beijing International airport filled up by number of girls with various cameras on their hand. I don’t know if they were equally surprise as international Meigeni who was at home and anticipating his airport fashion turned to be speechless.

He known among fans as airport fashion king and this very morning he proves it once again!

So today was Michael Jackson 5th death anniversary and Fanfan had to do something to tribute him which he chooses to do a cosplay!
Came out with long purple wig, he woke my sleepy eyes and I fell silence for moment before I bursted in to hard laughter. It’s likeWTF, what did you do to yourself?

He update his weibo, said he took his sister to go to the show (he will attend Paris Fashion Week, invited by Givency) and both of his Studio (Wu Yifan’s management team) and Official fanclub explained about his style today was for the late Michael Jackson.

So, I can wait for the Fashion Night because I really am anticipating about his appearance. And I don’t expect any clean cut look from him XD

He was not a prince but he was fashion icon 🙂

Wu Yifan, today was marking his path in the world for 24 years already.

Today 24 years ago, right on the 6th November 1990 there was born a baby boy, the ordinary baby boy. The baby was growing up in such various surrounding which lead him to be extraordinary boy ever walk on earth.

He spent his early life in two different surrounding, in his birthplace China and in the different world of western, Vancouver, Canada for specific. Having to adapt in the polar opposite of culture just enriched his personality.
The ordinary boy soon become extraordinary boy with his all round talent. Started off by basketball player, the boy named Kevin Li even brought his team become champion back in China.

His new journey was begun in Korea.

Spent nine years in that country with all the sweat, pain, blood, tears; he left.

As expected, his adventurous soul can’t let himself stuck in one place and one thing too long. Gathered all his brave, he took one big and controversial step by leaving the team that already make his name big.

Why did he leaving? Just one answer.

He took up the chance for another opportunity, the one he may never have if he choose to stay.

So here he goes today, actor/singer/songwriter/composer/producer Wu who kick off his new journey right on his birthday with his very first self-composed and produced song as his movie’s OST, entitled “有一个地方(You yi ge di fang) – Somewhere/There is a Place”

This maybe not the best, but surely, this song will be very much memorable for him and for meigeni because this is his very first step for a new journey.

Hope that he can keep stepping forward because meigeni will always back him up, there is a place for him to turn into whenever he needed it

有一个地方* (its not song lyric)

There is a place for the story to be born
There is a place for the start to begin
There is a palce for the gate to open

And there is a place for you to turn into

A place for you to shine
A place for you to smile
A place for you to cheer

One place

One place only you know

You may go somewhere
You may hide somewhere
You may leave somewhere

But there only one place you may return to

Somewhere, where the skies are blue
Somewhere, where the stars are shining bright
Somewhere, where we can fly together

Somewhere

Somewhere only we know
